terms and conditions

Attendance

  • Our attendance rate is excellent at Elastic. Please contact Vicky Moteane, via email or text, if your child cannot attend class and why.
  • If attendance generally is poor, I will contact the parents / carers, as this will hamper the child’s progress and enjoyment of dance.

Attire / Presentation

  • Students must attend classes in full uniform, with hair neatly tied back.
  • Ballet students will all receive a bun kit once they enrol. If long enough, hair should be worn in a bun for ballet, where possible. This style enhances the line of the neck, is neat and fuss-free and students aren't distracted by hair in faces.

Cancellation of Classes

  • If classes are cancelled due to extreme weather, lockdown, or any other factor over which the teacher has no control, that class will be delivered via Zoom.
  • If classes are cancelled due to teacher illness, or our premises becoming unavailable, the customer will be refunded.
  • Parents will be contacted via email, in the event of a cancellation, giving as much notice as possible.

Examinations

  • It is the teacher's choice whether or not your child is ready for an examination. We are experienced and knowledgeable about a student's readiness to sit an exam and, of course, children develop at different rates, so please respect our decisions.

Fees

  • Fees are to be paid termly, or by monthly direct debit. If paying termly, the due date must be observed.
  • Classes are priced at £6 for a 30 min. class, £7 for a 40/ 45 min. class, £7.50 for a 50 min. class and £9 for an hour long class. These are subject to change. The customer will always be informed of a price increase, before being sent an invoice
  • If paying via direct debit and a student was to leave before completing a full academic year, there would be a final payment different to the standard fee, in order to settle the account.
  • There is a one month cancellation fee. If a child were to leave during February for example, the direct debit on March 1st would be the final payment. Notice to leave should be made in writing (an email is sufficient).
  • By returning the direct debit mandate, you are agreeing to make payments over a 12 month period and if your child decides to end their training, the 1st of the following month will be the final payment. You are also agreeing to notify Vicky Moteane if your child no longer wishes to attend class, rather than simply cancelling the direct debit.

Filming / Photography

  • Please select whether or not you are happy for your child to be filmed / photographed on the registration form, for use on social media / our website / general advertising.
  • No filming is allowed during 'open classes.' Our shows are professionally filmed and this will be available to purchase. The audience are not permitted to film during the performance.

Health and Safety

  • If necessary, please send your child into class with any medication they may require during the class (such as an inhaler) and inform Vicky Moteane, in writing, of any details regarding usage, dose, and frequency.
  • Allergies / regular medication must be noted on the registration form and Vicky Moteane must be informed of any changes to these details.
  • When registering, select whether or not you are happy for a registered first aider to carry out treatment in the event of an emergency.
  • No jewellery / adornments including watches, Fitbits, elaborate hair bands are to worn during class, as these could cause injury / a distraction.
  • Only ballet shoes (if appropriate) or bare feet are to worn during class, to avoid slipping.
  • Your child must be able to use the toilet independently. Teachers are unable to leave the class in order to assist your child.
  • Preschool parents are required to stay on the premises.
  • It is essential Vicky Moteane is kept up-to-date with any changes to your contact details - email addresses and phone numbers in particular.
  • Please inform Vicky Moteane of any changes to pick up arrangements well in advance of the class.
  • The teacher is responsible for your child during class time only.
  • Please be prompt when collecting your child, so children aren’t hanging around. Classes are often back-to-back and teachers cannot wait with your child in between classes.

Notice

  • It will be assumed your child wishes to continue with their dance training unless I hear otherwise. The parent / carer will automatically be invoiced at the end of each term, or direct debit taken monthly.
  • Should your child wish to cease attending class, one month’s notice (during term time) is required. Without sufficient notice, the parent / carer will be required to pay for the next set of dance fees.
  • No refunds will be given for classes unattended.

Pandemic Policy

  • If classes are unable to go ahead in-person, due to Coronavirus or any other pandemic, classes will be delivered via Zoom.
  • Customers will be charged the same price for Zoom class as in-person ones. Any classes that cannot be delivered via Zoom will be refunded or credited and online class times will remain as close to the original time as possible.
  • When returning to the studio, there are likely to be safety precautions in place involving sanitising, ventilation, cleaning, minimal belongings etc. Rules around safety measures will be emailed to the parents / carers in advance of the lessons and must be adhered to by the student.

Teachers

  • All teachers are DBS checked and first aid trained.

Uniforms

  • Uniform is available to purchase through the website and will be brought to class ready for the student’s next lesson, where possible. Any items I don’t provide and that require fitting (such as ballet shoes) are available from Dancia in Portslade

By registering your child, you are agreeing to all the points within these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy.
